CUSTOMER COMMENT
We’ve recently upgraded our OPT scheduling software
from version 4 to version 7 while at the same upgrading our
ERP system. DBO provided excellent support ensuring interfaces
worked correctly, and refining our scheduling model. This
has enabled us to use the improved functionality to further
reduce in process inventory and improve production equipment
effectiveness.

Xerox Fuser Business Centre.
CUSTOMER OVERVIEW
The Fuser Business Centre produces fuser rolls and fuser modules
for a global Xerox customer base. The fuser uses a combination
of heat and pressure to fuse the toner image to the paper.
The basic raw material for a fuser roll is either aluminium
or steel tubing, which is either turned or ground, before
being coated. The Fuser Business Centre produces a range of
around 25 fuser rolls and fuser modules for Xerox printers
and copiers. Total output is around 750,000 units a year.
PROJECT ACHIEVEMENTS
Prior to implementing the OPT scheduling software the preparation
of the weekly schedule would typically take 58 hours and involve
5 people. Now it takes an hour and requires just one person.
The DBO team provided excellent support during the implementation.
They set up the scheduling model which included field returns
for remanufacture, and they wrote scripts to enable the OPT
scheduling software to interface with our ERP system.
The OPT scheduling software has enabled us to reliably achieve
our customer delivery targets, whilst at the same time being
able to aggressively reduce our inventory holdings.
